Our work has one clear focus: your child's individual needs. In order for us to support your child's development in the best possible way, we employ people with vast amounts of experience from within the childcare sector. All staff have a loving and caring nature and have come from different educational training backgrounds. They all attend regular training courses, which enable them to bring new ideas and proposals to the nursery - ideas that will also benefit your children.

Emma Wood
Co-owner - Nursery Principal
Emma is the designated Nursery Principal. She has ultimate responsibility for Brockhill Barn Day Nursery. This includes staff recruitment, personnel matters, Ofsted, Quality Assurance, Health and Safety issues and the general day to day running of the nursery including the ultimate welfare of the children.
Paul Rawlins
Co-owner - Nursery Administrator / Website Co-ordinator / Cook / Gardener / Maintenance Man
Main Qualifications
Basic Food Hygiene.
Job Role
Preparing and cooking the nursery meals on a daily basis. Providing Emma with admin support including, invoicing, form compilation and bookkeeping. Paul is also responsible for setting up and maintaining the BBDN website and social media group accounts including Facebook and Twitter.

Although Paul has no formal cookery training, he has always enjoyed being in the kitchen and has always cooked the meals for his two sons, Will and Tom.

Beverley Darling
Nursery Manager

Job Role
Bev is the designated Nursery Manager. Her responsibility is to support Emma in her role as nursery principal and to ensure the safe and effective running of the nursery which includes; communicating with new and existing parents on a regular basis, carrying out staff appraisals, implementation of all policies and procedures, working within the Early Years Foundation Stage Famework and implementing relevant activities and to work as an effective team leader ensuring the children's welfare is paramount at all times.

Job Role
I work alongside Bev to oversee the daily running of the nursery. My role is to support, plan and assess for children with additional needs. To offer support to all staff in a practice lead role. I also liaise with other professionals regarding children with special needs. I also create and maintain positive relationships with parents.

I studied at college after leaving school and completed an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare. I then worked part-time at a pre-school setting while attending University to study for my Level 5 diploma. I came to work at Brockhill in 2012 and first worked in the Butterfly Room. A year later I became the Baby Room Supervisor. Then in October 2015 I was promoted to Deputy Manager, SENCo and Practice Lead.
