Safe and Secure
At Brockhill Barn, the children’s safety and security is always of paramount importance to us. It is crucial that the children are safe in the Nursery environment. For this reason we have strict security policies of which all staff are made aware and which must be followed at all times. The Nursery is securely located and all parents and visitors must notify staff of their arrival by use of the Nursery bell and only the Nursery Manager is permitted to grant access at this point. Each child is signed in and out of the Nursery each day and no child will be allowed to leave the Nursery with any person who cannot be identified by the staff or who is not a nominated contact person, unless written consent from the parents in advance.

We ask parents and other authorised visitors to the Nursery to take care to close the doors fully after themselves when entering and leaving the premises to ensure that the Nursery remains secure. Occasionally people will visit the Nursery to view the facilities or carry out maintenance checks. Visitors are closely supervised and are required to sign in and out, therefore ensuring that the Nursery Manager is always aware of who is on the premises.

During outings the security and safety of the children is paramount and staff/child ratios are increased during any Nursery outing. Clearly defined procedures are followed at all times.

Health and Safety is also of great importance to Nursery life. We ensure that our Nursery provides a safe environment for all children, parents and staff.

Our Nursery staff receive regular training and updates on Health and Safety issues and each Nursery has a Health and Safety coordinator who is responsible for all issues within their Nursery to ensure that all safety procedures and practices are adhered to at all times.
