


At Brockhill Barn, staff are chosen for their ability to provide the optimum care and dedication to your child to the exacting standard you would expect as a parent. All staff are CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) checked upon joining the Nursery. All staff receive a comprehensive induction programme of training as they start their career with us covering subjects such as Paediatric First Aid, Basic Food Hygiene and the extensive training on policies and procedures to familiarise themselves with our standards and procedures.
Emma Rawlins – Nursery Principal
Emma is the designated Nursery Principal. She has ultimate responsibility, most importantly, for the welfare of the children in the nurseries care. Furthermore, Emma is responsible for staff recruitment, personnel maters, OFSTED Quality Assurance, Health & Safety issues and general day to day running of the Nursery.
Emma has over 12 years experience in childcare environments and has gained all relevant qualifications and training including City and Guilds NVQ Levels II and III in Early Years Childcare and Education.
Emma possesses a thorough working knowledge of the childcare industry. For the last 6 years and until recently, Emma supervised the running and day-to-day management of two very popular and busy day nurseries accommodating a total of 104 children from ages 3 months up to 5 years.
More recently, Emma has been working within a Children’s Special Needs Assessment Unit for the NHS at a large hospital in Dudley. Special needs experience has included caring for children with autism, cerebral palsy, cystic fibrosis, chromosomal disorders and speech, language and development delay.
Jenny Henderson - Nursery Manager
Jenny is the designated Nursery Manager. Her responsibility is to support Emma in her role as Nursery Principal and to ensure the safe and effective running of the Nursery which includes; communicating with new and existing parents on a regular basis, carrying out staff appraisals, implementation of all policies and procedures, using the Birth to Three Matters framework plan and implementing relevant activities. Once again, working as an effective team leader to ensure that the children’s welfare is paramount at all times.
Jenny has over 25 years experience in childcare environments and has gained all relevant qualifications and training including City and Guilds NVQ Level III in Early Years Childcare and Education. In 2005, Jenny also attended a Nursery Management course.
Beverley Darling - Baby Suite Supervisor
Beverley is the Baby Suite supervisor and has ultimate responsibility for the running of the Baby Suite.
Beverley has over 15 years experience in childcare environments and is currently working towards a City and Guilds NVQ Level III in Early Years Childcare and Education. She possesses a thorough working knowledge of the childcare industry.
Her responsibilities at the Nursery include: - Ensuring the appropriate adult:care ratios are maintained at all times throughout the day, communicating with the Nursery Manager to ensure the safe and efficient functioning of the Baby Suite, liaising with new parents to help their child to settle into the Nursery in the early stages.
Beverley uses the Birth to Three Matters Framework to plan and implement activities for the children to participate in.
Karianne Day - Nursery Nurse
Karianne is Bev's assistant in the baby suite. Karianne has over five years experience in childcare environments and possesses NVQ Levels II and III in Early Years Childcare and Education. She possesses a thorough working knowledge of the childcare industry.
Her responsibilities at the nursery include:- Assisting the baby suite supervisor to Ensure the appropriate adult:child ratios are maintained at all times throughout the day, communicating with the baby suite supervisor to ensure the safe and efficient functioning of the baby suite, liaising with new parents to help their child to settle in to the nursery in the early stages an d to cover for the baby suite supervisor in her absence.
Karianne also utilises the 'Birth to three' framework to plan and implement activities for the children to participate in under the guidance of the baby suite supervisor.
